One of my many job titles where I work is Social Media Director. I’ve been maintaining all of the social networks for our many company websites. 12 sites with at the least 3 social networking accounts attached. You do the math. Over the past couple years I’ve picked up on some really great tips and tricks from across the web. The list below is not only filled with useful plug-ins and software downloads, but also many great social networking communities and top gurus in the field.

I was using Tweetdeck to manage my social networks, but I recently set up my account at Hootsuite and am really liking it. It has more social networks integrated into it than Tweetdeck does. Not only does it have support for Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Ping.fm it also includes Wordpress, Four Square, Myspace and even a custom rss feed option.

Are you on Facebook? Sure you are and who isn’t these days so why not take advantage of this bit of demographic info to drive new visitors to your website. This is a fairly simple process, but due to the fact that Facebook is constantly changing how their site works it can be a bit confusing so I’ll do a quick run down here and then show you how to automatically populate your fan page with content from your website.

I’ve been playing around with Tweet Adder today and am trying to determine if this is a program I should purchase or not. So far all the reviews I’ve been reading have been positive, but to be honest it just feels a little like black hat SEO to me.

In an effort to increase traffic to my newly revamped website I began stepping up my Twitter efforts. Why is this important you might ask? Well with the advent of Google Live Search it makes more sense now than ever to get on board with Twitter. As Google Live lists the most current updates returned from the social networks this was a no-brainer to step up my tweeting.

Tweetdeck is a program for following and contributing to social networks. In particular Twitter (obviously), Facebook, LinkedIn and Myspace. Not only can you follow all of these accounts, but you can follow multiple versions of these accounts.
