I’ve been maintaining all of the social networks for our many company websites. 12 sites with at the least 3 social networking accounts attached. You do the math. I just got a new Droid this weekend and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. I’m proud to say that I’m now one of those annoying guys who wont stop playing with his phone. So be it. I was using Tweetdeck to manage my social networks, but I recently set up my account at Hootsuite and am really liking it. It has more social networks integrated into it than Tweetdeck does. Not only does it have support for Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Ping.fm it also includes Wordpress, Four Square, Myspace and even a custom rss feed option.

To Drop Cards Or Not, Does Entrecard Work?

I stopped dropping cards about 6 months ago. I was pretty active for a while and I did see results in Google Analytics, but I don’t know how targeted my traffic was. It did increase the amount of unique hits I was getting, but it also increased the amount of spam comments I was getting. In the end I don’t know what value it added to my site. The very nature of Entrecard feels like something that will eventually be banned by the major search engines.
