Comments Policy
Thanks for taking the time to browse NateBal.com. If you’re leaving comments I really do love hearing what you have to say. Please try to keep relevant to what the post is actually about. I’m not really worried about spam comments as I have several plugins which filter those out nicely. I truly am interested in what you have to say and I will respond to all serious posts.
With that said here’s my policy
1. !!! I LOVE COMMENTS!!! – they’re as important as anything I write myself. They help to add depth and understanding to my subjects. My brain doesn’t work the same as everyone else’s so a different spin on my take is always welcome. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE feel free to comment – whether you feel you are a beginner or an expert please don’t hesitate to have your say.
2. I DELETE SPAM – I have spam filters in place which automatically catch the majority of automated spam comments. If your spam comment is somehow missed by these plugins I will manually delete them myself. I’m in the business of website marketing, but links to your casino, porn or irrelivant websites will not see the light of day on this blog.
3. RELEVANT LINKS IN COMMENTS ARE ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED – if you’re leaving a comment on my blog and want to point to a link on your own or someone elses’ site that is relevant to the topic then please feel free to do so. This adds to the conversation and improves the blog.
4. I SUPPORT COMMENTLUV which will pull your blog’s last post into your comment ACTIVELY GIVING YOUR WEBSITE A VALID BACK-LINK.
5. IRRELEVANT LINKS ARE NOT ENCOURAGED – if you leave a comment with a link in it that has no relevance to the post you’re commenting on it could be be deleted. Please don’t waste your time posting the irrelevant. It does nothing to help the effectiveness here and again will not be seen by my readers.
Advice from Problogger
I borrowed the following excerpt from Problogger as I think he put this very well. While I do encourage commenting it can help or harm your cause. Do so wisely and it will serve you well.
“My advice to those commenting on blogs (not just mine) is that in a sense you’re visiting someone else’s home when you leave a comment. Comments have the ability to build up our tear down your reputation. They are a permanent record of who you are and what you stand for – so take care – be gracious – make sure they add value (not only to the blog you’re visiting but also to your own online profile)”
